Saturday morning I headed over to the Farmers Market in Detroit Lakes MN. My main goal was to find some local Honeycrisp applies, but I wasn’t so lucky. Turns out they won’t be ready for about another month.
I did pick up a dozen farm fresh eggs, all brown. My regular egg source always has a variety of colors in the carton, so this surprised me. TM says it’s related to the breed of chickens?
I also got a loaf of whole wheat bread and one melon — without the apples, we still wanted some sort of fruit. She said it was “like a cantaloupe,” but it wasn’t the right color to be cantaloupe, in my opinion. It looks good in the picture, but it also wasn’t that sweet.
If you’re wondering, this is a busy farmers market with a lot of variety. Worth the trip.
