I got a new copy of the North Dakota Local Foods Directory in the mail a few ago and it’s an awesome resource for finding local food in the Red River Valley.  Maybe if I had looked at it more thoroughly, I wouldn’t have been surprised that I could get natural cheese in Sterling, ND.

In this book, you can find out more about CSAs, u-pick farms, roadside stands, on-farm sales, and mail order options. It’s also organized by region if you want to see what’s within driving distance.

The book is free and easy to request. Copies can be obtained by emailing the North Dakota Department of Agriculture. It can also be accessed online at http://1.usa.gov/LgmnM2
