Perfecting the granola bars

I’ve been making homemade granola bars for months now. They are handy to have for breakfast in the car on the my way to work, and TM loves them as a snack. I’ve substituted a variety of ingredients as the “mix ins” and really had fun perfecting the combinations. But, one thing has kept bugging me each time I made them.

It was impossible to cut them decently to prepackage them in individual servings. Often when I cut them, they would crumble and I would end up with a bag of granola chunks instead of a bar. I think I’ve solved this problem

I purchased some silicone mini-loaf pans that make bars that are 2 1/2 x 6 1/2 inches, basically the perfect individual granola bar size. The bars seemed to pop out perfectly and looked awesome. I only got enough pans for 12 bars, but I’m going to place another order now to get two more pans so that I have enough for a full batch of the granola bar recipe. They look so perfect — it’s the little things, I guess!
